St. Charles of New York on display in Connecticut

Two St. Charles of New York kitchens and a wine grotto can now be seen in the front window of the Aitoro showroom on 401 Westport Avenue in Norwalk, Connecticut. When New England's leading appliance dealer decided to transform its 55-year-old business with full lifestyle working kitchens, it sought out the design talents at St. Charles of New York. Principal Robert Schwartz's mission was to integrate two different styles of Viking equipment into a real world environment, and "put 80 feet of appliances into 40 feet of wall space."

An elegant wine grotto designed by Robert Schwartz greets visitors to the revamped Aitoro showroom in Norwalk, Conn. The custom cabinetry features quarter sawn sketchface cherry with center medallions on glass doors. The display is especially noteworthy because it is the first time the wine refrigerator was completely and fully integrated into the cabinetry, requiring lengthy consultation by the designer with Viking engineers.
